Why Yoga For Golfers? Every time I walk off the course I notice how much I enjoy a day spent outdoors, surrounded by beautiful scenery and with great company. I have found so many parallels between yoga and golf. The body awareness, mental focus, balance, strength and lighthearted attitude required for both drew me to Katherine Roberts’ Yoga For Golfers program. It’s a perfect blend of my love for yoga and my growing love for golf. I think it was my years of gymnastics growing up that started my love of dynamic, purposeful and explosive movement which I have found in both yoga and golf. Integrating yoga into golf focuses on increasing range of motion and mobility, access to more power and strength, enhances focus and prevents injury. I love to learn, I am constantly exploring ways to expand my knowledge base through personal practice, workshops, training's, community involvement and teaching. I would love to know how I can support you on your Journey on or off the mat or course. Namaste Kristy

Why do I teach Yoga for Golfers?  It marries my passions for teaching, golf and yoga             While on a vacation to Scottsdale in November 2014, I was intrigued to take a series of Yoga for Golfers classes at Troon North offered by Katherine Robert’s. Yoga for Golfers is a golf-specific conditioning program that integrates yoga postures and controlling the breath to improve flexibility, core conditioning, balance, strength, endurance, focus and concentration to play better, stronger and longer.  I believe that integrating this program into my life is the primary reason that my handicap has dropped 5 strokes in the last year and a half.  It was a program that resonated deeply with me because of my passion for golf. So, in the spring of 2015, I took the Level 1 and Level 2 Yoga for Golfers instructor programs, thinking that I would be able to bring the program home to my golfing friends.  As my passion for my yoga practice deepened, I completed an intensive 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in August of 2015. I look forward to sharing the Yoga for Golfers program with you! Namaste Desiree Hackman, BSc, M.Ed., RYT, Level 2 Yoga for Golfers Instructor.
