Counting Down the Days

It doesn’t seem possible that we’re in the last week of operations here at Kokanee Springs but our 31st annual “Kokanee Men’s Amateur Open” took place this past weekend and that signals the end of the season for us.

The Tournament was a big success; Ben Proskiw is this year’s overall Champion after winning in a playoff with Ryan Krisko. Fine play by both men! The real winner in this event is our local school lunch program who will receive a nice donation towards providing proper nutrition to all of the students that need help. Money is raised each year for various charities in our area, the ever popular “Charity Chip”, 50/50 ticket sales and support from local business combine to allow a nice donation each year. This year’s main corporate partner was the Nelson and District Credit Union who’s $500.00 sponsorship will allow us to provide a cheque to the school for approx. $1,500.00! Thank you to the NDCU for getting involved and helping the community.

On September 28th we will close the tee for the last time in 2014 and begin putting the course to bed for the winter. Thank you to all of you who visited us over the course of the season; we appreciate and value your business and look forward to seeing you again in 2015.

Stay tuned to the Blog over the winter, we will have lots of exciting news to share with you!
